International Trade Fairs/ Exhibitions To be participated by O/o DC SSI New Delhi
The Small industries Development organization is participating in the following International Exhibition to promote exports from the small scale sector. The export worthy products of the Small Scale Units are displayed FREE of cost in the SIDO Pavilion.
The Small Scale Units manufacturing quality products and considered to be export worthy will be required to send their products, at their cost, to the Small Industries Service Institute, Mumbai, Duly packed for Airfreight. The maximum weight of consignment should not exceed 20kgs and in some cases 30kgs including packaging.
The participation of SSI units of North Karnataka has to be selected and recommended by the Director, SISI, Hubli. Hence aspiring entrepreneurs may contact,

The Guidelines-Terms & Conditions – Procedure For
Participating in International Exhibitions
1. ISO 9000 certified units would be preferred. The gross weight of the product samples/exhibits will be 20 to 30 Kgs including the Weight of packaging, which would be confirmed by the SISI, Hubli. Please note that in no circumstances the above gross weight of each sample exceeds the prescribed weight limit. At the same time where the weight of samples is less, due to the nature of the product, there is no need to send an excessively large number of samples. In case the gross weight of the exhibits exceeds the prescribed weight as mentioned above, special permission in writing has been obtained.
2. The participation of the selected SSI units will be at the Government’s expenses and the SSI Units exhibiting their products will not be required to make payment towards space rent, to and fro air freight/shipping charges, handling and clearing and insurance charges etc. However, The selected units will have to transport their exhibits at their own expenses to the campus of SISI, Mumbai and similarly collect the same from Mumbai after return of these exhibits from abroad. The selected exhibits recommended by SISI, Hubli must reach SISI, Mumbai on or before scheduled date positively.(the scheduled date will be mentioned for each exhibition)
3. The units may be liable to payment of CV Duty, if any, under Section 20 of the Customs Act, 1962 at the time of re-import of exhibits of Indian origin which attract Excise Duty within the country but which have been sent abroad without payment of such duty under Excise Bond GP-II. If the units before export have already paid Excise Duty, they will be exempted from countervailing Duty at the time of re-import provided the following documents are supplied to along-with other relevant documents: -
a) Form AR-4
b) GP-I
c) Certificate from the Central Excise Authority that Excise Duty has been paid and it has
not been refunded.
If these documents are not furnished at the time of export, Countervailing Duty, if any, will be payable at the time of re-import. If the exhibits are exempted from Central Excise, a certificate from an appropriate Authority in the jurisdiction of the participants will have to be produced.
4. The amount of CV Duty should be paid immediately by demand draft in favour of ITPO, Mumbai and handover the same to SISI, Mumbai as and when demanded. If the duty is not received within 3 weeks from the date of issue of the notice on arrival of vessel, whichever is later, ITPO/SISI, Mumbai will have the right to surrender the goods to Customs for disposal in any manner. After completion of 3 weeks, if any charges on storage or handling/clearing or any other liability accrue as a result of delay for taking delivery by the participants, this will have to be borne by the participating unit concerned.
5. It is brought to your kind notice that the exhibits will be Air freighted from Mumbai and hence the exhibits should be packed in sturdy for air cargo worthy quality package, which can withstand rough handling during transit. It is strongly advised that representatives of the selected units should also visit the exhibition personally to conduct on the spot business negotiations with interested buyers of their products and also obtain the confirmed orders. However, the cost of such participation by the representatives of the units will have to be borne by the units themselves.
6. The SSI units which aspires to participate in the international exhibition are requested to
inform this office well in advance so as to enable this office to select the unit since very limited units are permitted to participate and also the selected unit has to inform,
6.1 Items identified for display.
6.2 The net weight of the items intended for display.
6.3 FOB value of the articles (in Rs. as well as US$).
6.4 25 Copies of publicity materials of the concerned products/units.
6.5 FOB price list.
6.6 Contact person and their contact number such as Tel./Fax/E-mail etc.
7. The selected units should also send along with their exhibits the following documents to SISI, Mumbai:
7.1 5 copies of the invoices declaring clearly FOB value of each of the exhibits in Indian
currency and US$ and the net weight and clear description of each of the exhibits.
7.2 Certificate of Indian Origin.( to be obtained from chamber of commerce and industries)
7.3 Disposal instructions for sale of exhibits during the fair.
7.4 Packages should have following marking stenciled on the boxes with ink:
(a) Name of the consignee, Director, Indian Pavilion, Respective trade fair
(b) Gross weight & Net weight
(c) Dimension of each package in cms.
(d) Case number.
7.5 Packing slips should be inserted in each case.
8. Identification marks or labels should be put on each items for identification at the time of export by putting a tag or pasting stickers on each items to signify that the goods are of Indian Origin to enable Customs Examiner to write the report and verify at the time of export and import, ascertain that these are the same goods which had been exported to facilitate import clearance. A copy of packing list and copy of invoices must be kept in each case including special instructions, if any. Invoices/packing list should have the markings/information such as Name of Consignee as above, name of Consigner (Company's name and address) gross weight & net weight, Dimensions of each package, case number, Import/Export Code Number, Item-wise value etc. FOB value of the invoice should be given both in US$ and in Indian Rupees. Director, India Pavilion will have the right to sell, offer as free sample of the exhibits, as deemed fit. It will also be within the powers of ITPO official team to destroy the exhibits of small value up to Rs. 500 or of a little commercial value. The exhibits sold in exhibition abroad will be liable to payment of service charges, CV duty etc. The sale proceeds will be repatriated and returned to the units after deduction of duties, levies, if any.
9. Some more instructions in this regard may also be conveyed to the participating units before dispatch of the samples:
9.1. All product literature should be double packed in plastic to ensure that no dampness occurs. Packing should ensure that the exhibits and literature reach destination in original form, without damage.
9.2 Copies of FOB price list and technical specifications must be placed inside the box/carton and a complete set of price list, technical specifications etc. may be sent by name to the undersigned.
9.3 SIDO usually engages an interpreter at each fair. However, it is important that the team deputed by SIDO is well versed with product details & hence there is a need for complete product literature.
9.4 In their own interest entrepreneurs are encouraged to arrange for translation of product literature into local language to facilitate discussions & understanding with overseas buyers
9.5 Potential exhibitors must carefully note the thrust of the fair, which is conveyed by ITPO.
10. Since considerable importance is being attached to O/o DC (SSI)'s participation in the aforesaid fair, kindly ensure that exhibits from this region are sent to SISI, Mumbai on or before scheduled date positively. The exhibits that reach SISI, Mumbai after the above- scheduled date will not be covered in the SIDO consignment and the units will have to remove them from SISI Mumbai at their own expenses. A certificate of exemption from octroi on exhibition cargo (Z-form) of India Trade Promotion Organization, New Delhi and Performa for passport particulars for representative who are likely to visit this fair personally at their own cost, are placed below/enclosed for necessary action please.
